I traveled 4 hours to Rifle Colorado to attend a revival meeting with TSNL. I was graciously hosted by Mike and Robin Pruitt, who lives in Silt (a neighboring town of Rifle).
I arrived around noon and met up with Grant (a brother from the Colorado hub) for lunch. Tonia Lyons (now a regional TSNL leader) also came, and we had a wonderful conversation. After lunch, I went to my hosts home and had a chance to get to know Mike and Robin a little.
The first night Daniel talked prophetically about a rifle and the unique ability it has as a result of its design to shoot a bullet over a long distance with accuracy. Rifle is a strategic location God is going to use to bring revival to the region.
When it was time for ministry, most of the people came forward for prayer. It is hard to say just how many demons were cast out or the number of healings. It was wonderful to see the body of Jesus Christ working together in ministry to pray for and see God's people set free.
There was a lady that manifested a nasty demon. Initially, I thought it was Robin, the lady I was staying with. I thought to myself.....WHAT? Is that Robin? Once I had a better view, I realized it was a different lady. Regardless, the demon in the lady was fighting and it took several men to hold her. She screamed, hurled insults, and was crazy through the night.
The next day, my brother Mike Delong arrived and we all were invited to Tony and Darcy's home for lunch. While we were there, Mike and I had a chance to listen to many amazing stories about Tony's time as a pastor for the prison, which he served for 25 years. Tony and Darcy have a deliverance ministry and God uses them mightily. It is so inspiring to see how God can use a couple in a small town to do great exploits for God.
We all arrived for the evening meeting on the second night. Mike tells us this is the first time he has been to a meeting like this. He wants to experience God move in the lives of others and in himself. Moments before the meeting starts, Greta calls me and is concerned from Andrew. She seems distraught over him and doesn't know what to do. I told her we get on our knees and pray for him. She is listening but not acknowledging. The call ends. Moments later, she calls back and still distraught. I talked to her for a few minutes to put us on the same page of understanding. I explained while there may be physical ailments with Andrew, the struggle of his anxiety is not a fight against his flesh but a spiritual fight. I told her that is why we need to pray for him. I asked if I could pray and she said ok so I prayed. I brought before the Lord that Greta and I are contending for Andrew's soul. We are praying for his salvation and his deliverance. I then prayed for peace to come to Greta to bring her peace and comfort. I did sense a change in that moment. After the call, I went back inside and Mike asked if all was ok. I simply said no. I briefly explained and Mike promptly began to pray for me. I am so blessed to have a man of God like Mike in my life.
Daniel talked repentance and living a holy life. The message he brought is a word the church needs to hear. When it came time for ministry, people came forward. Instead of starting a prayer time, he just waiting. I felt a huge wave of power come over me and at that moment, Daniel made a comment that the power of God was in the room. It was a quiet moment and then a few people began to sing out. I have witnessed this type of occurrence only a few times in my life where the Holy Spirit moves upon a people in such an organic way. Daniel and the team stepped out of the way and the Holy Spirit was ministering to the people without the works of any man. A moment of time passed and Daniel released the forerunners to start laying hands on people to receive the Holy Spirit. I began moving around the people laying hands for the people to receive the Holy Spirit. Many people were profoundly touched. Unlike Daniel, who moved around the room rather quickly and people falling, I spent a bit more time with individuals that I was allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me to.
While the night was special, there were a few that stood out. During the service, the row behind me had a young man among several women. A few times during the service I turned around to look over the people and I could see the young man was under conviction of Holy Spirit. During the ministry time, the guy and girls were all still sitting there. I went over and began to talk to him. I told him I could see he was under conviction and asked if it was true. He said it was. I asked what he was going to do about it. As I was talking with him, all the girls on the row began to cry. I looked at them, looked at him and said....you know, I think God is answering some prayers right now. The girls cried more. While I continued to talk to him (his name is Alex), a young child (probably around 8) two chairs down was listening intently and tears were streaming down her face. She wasn't crying in the traditional sense but it was obvious to me that the Holy Spirit was touching her. I shifted my focus to this young child and was moved with so much compassion that I started to cry. I said to her....do you feel like someone is tugging on your heart. She nods yes and I said, what you feel is the love of Jesus for you. That little girl was so precious. I looked at the sisters and said to them.....when I look at her, I think of the time when Jesus was talking and the adults were wanting the kids to leave Jesus alone but Jesus said no....let the come. Jesus enjoyed and held the kids close. He then said he wants us to be like her (the little girl) and come to Him. I can't remember the name of little girl as it was unique. She gave me permission to pray for her and put my hand on her head. I prayed for her and believe the Lord will use her to touch the lives of many. Once I finished praying for her, I shifted back to the young man. He said he wanted to know God personally, not just know about him. I then prayed for him. I told him that God will pursue him and it would be good to surrender now rather than later and encouraged him to put his trust in Jesus. I then moved on around the room and ministered to others. A short while later, I noticed another person praying for the young man. I told a lady with him...see...look....God is going to continue to put people in front of him. God is pursuing him.
I had the pleasure to minister to a brother and sister. The brother was slain and I had confidence that Holy Spirit was healing his heart and mind. He was out for quite a while. When I began to pray for the sister, a demon manifested. As the stronghold was destroyed and the power of God came upon her she fell to the floor. Another brother on the ministry team rushed over and took over getting the demon cast out. A few minutes later she was smiling and laughing. She said she felt free and light. Shortly after, I had her and her brother stand next to each other and spoke a blessing over them and asked Holy Spirit to fill the places where the enemy once was.
My brother in the Lord, Mike was taking in everything going on around him. At one point, he was prayed for by Daniel. Shortly after, I had a chance to pray for him too. As I began to pray, his body began to tremble. Mike has concern about the scripture that talks about being baptized in the Spirit and in fire. Our conversations of that passage of scripture tends to lean towards judgement. I hold the view is it is a purifying fire we receive during baptism. I remember saying he had concerns with fire and said, I am going to pray for fire to consume you to purify you. My hand now on his belly, Holy Spirit power seemed to increase and the trembles got even stronger. All of a sudden, there was a short burst of tongues that came from his mouth. My brother was no doubt baptized by Holy Spirit and spoke in another tongue! I am going to guess it was one of the most powerful experiences he has encountered to date. He later said he was doing everything he could to stand. (sorry...it just makes me laugh because most would have fallen. Mike said he did not want to be pushed down and wouldn't. Well, he wasn't pushed down but he did all he could to stand when the power of God came upon him. Equally humorous to me was the uncontrollable shaking probably had more impact to him psychologically than falling down). I felt honored to be able to share that moment with him and am confident he had an encounter he will remember the rest of his life.
Another moment I will remember for a long time was a gentleman that was standing at the front of the stage area and just standing there with his daughter next to him. I walked up, not saying anything and gently put my hand on his chest. I did not know what to say so I just looked into his eyes. His eyes were locked on mine and what seemed to be about a minute later, his eyes began to well up and I could see that Holy Spirit was touching his heart and showing him the love of our Father. I was moved to compassion as I could feel God's love for him. I then prayed and spoke against the stronghold and he broke down. He began to weep. I kept my hand on him and allowed Holy Spirit power to flow through me. I noticed his daughter holding on to him was now also weeping. Once the man regained composure, I gently spoke a few words and he broke down again. I spoke a heart of stone being traded for a heart of flesh and that his life would be different from that moment on. I spoke a blessing over his daughter. A lady from the ministry team appeared on his other side. I did not ask but I believe it was his wife. Before I moved on, the man wrapped his arms around me and hugged me for what seemed to be minutes. I gave him a word of encouragement and blessed him. He hugged me tighter. The entire time, the man never said a word...only looked at me. When I moved on, there was overwhelming confidence he had a life changing encounter with God. It was an honor to be the vessel God chose to touch him for that specific moment.
I could write much more but these are the encounters that stood out the most.
