Motivational Gifts

Note: As we make mistakes, God's grace and mercy is provided to allow us to keep trying until overcome the obstacle.

I believe the motivation gifts are determined when God wrote about us.
Psalm 139:13-16 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Romans 12:6-8 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Motivational Gift Example:
After a dinner, the host gets up, goes to the kitchen and gets a cake that has been beautifully decorated. Hours were spend on making the perfect desert. The host entered the dining room and trips. The host begins to falls, drops the cake. The cake hits the floor and the host lands on the cake.
At this very moment, as if lightning were to strike, what is our initial reaction? Referencing the gifts outlined above:

Prophet - will say, why were you not looking where you were going? the prophet always wants to be correct and try to point out the obvious

Service - won't say anything but will grab a web rag, towel, and immediately start cleaning up the mess

Teacher - will say, yep...right there, I see it....that threshold board is coming loose. What we need to do is fix that so nobody else will fall. If that was fixed earlier, this would not have happened

Exhorter - will say, don't worry about anything here. that was an old plate the cake was on. You needed a new one anyway....there is no problem. We should've gotten up and got our own desert, or they would say...we ate too much! we didn't need desert anyway

Giver - jumps up and runs out the door...yelling, I will be right back! they are off to get another cake. They will make something happen by contributing to solve the problem

Mercy - falls out of the chair and hugs the host and shares in the brokenness of the mishap

Most often what happens is the administrator/leader is made at the mercy gift. The mercy gift is mad at the administrator/leader. The service gift is mad at the teach gift.
Everyone is mad at others not in their gift.

When all 7 gifts come together, the need can be met.
